Inside Bets

A single number or straight bet is based on predicting an individual number that the ball in roulette might land on. The payout for this is 35:1.

A sideways, upwards or split bet is based on two subsequent numbers on the table. The odds for this is 17:1.

A three number or street bet is based on three numbers that stand in a single row within the table. The odds for this is 11:1.

A four number, square or box bet is based on four block numbers on the table. The odds for this is 8:1.

A six number or box bet is based on six numbers grouped together on the table that covers up two three-number rows. The payout for this is 5:1.

Outside Bets

A dozen bet is based on a ball falling onto a number in a particular section of the table. The odds for this is 2:1.

A column bet is based on a ball falling on any number inside a particular column of the table. The odds for this is 2:1.

An even bet is based on a ball falling on any number on a particular half on the table. This can refer to even or odd bets, as well as black or red bets. You will get twice your bet back upon winning this kind of bet.

These are the most common bets in roulette. Overall, the table limits will be expressed as outside and inside bets, though. Other kinds of bets in roulette may exist out there, as well.
